Sustainability at Wallby
At Wallby, we think about our land, our heritage and our future.
Here are some of the things we do to be long-term.
We cooperate with local suppliers as much as possible.
Much of what we serve in the restaurant comes from the forest surrounding Wallby, the lake below or from the garden. Mushrooms, lingonberries, crayfish, perch, apples and rhubarb are just a few examples.
We take pride in taking advantage of what is left over. The cabbage from the Christmas table can end up in a pie and combined with Lida blue from Räven & Osten in Järnforsen.
We are "Kranmärkta". This means that we have water from our own well and that we do not sell bottled water.
If you are staying for a long time, you can choose to decline the room cleaning. It's a way to help each other.
We buy 100% renewable electricity from wind, solar and hydropower.
We use eco-labelled cleaning agents to the greatest extent possible.
At Wallby, we like to decorate with old furniture, fabrics and paintings that we found at auctions or flea markets.
At Wallby it's possible to charge your electric car.
